Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
In this episode I'm joined by Joelle Tomlinson, co-anchor of CTV Morning Live here in Calgary. I met Joelle while doing a segment and was blown away by her welcoming nature, wit and professional generosity.
Joelle shares her experience of adoption into a white family, how she got into her career, what a day in the life looks like for morning TV, and then we have a heartfelt conversation about her brother's accidental death due to a fentanyl overdose. Joelle shares how this experience has shaped her outlook on life and the power of sharing your story with others.

Great interview with Joelle. I used to work with Joelle's Mom and remember so clearly when Faye & Doug adopted her & her brother. It was wonderful getting to know her more as an adult woman from her point of view. (Her Mom keeps me abreast of what is happening with Joelle, nice to hear her side.) It was great to hear about a day in the life of a morning show host, wow, that is all I am going to say about that! I liked the breadth of the interview and the interaction between you both. Thanks Joelle for being so honest and vulnerable in the interview. It is always exciting to hear about (young) women being successful in their lives. Thanks to both of you. I will be back to listen to other interviews.
